The opening stage of the 2025 Donald McNair Scottish Cup took place this weekend with only one of our clubs progressing into the next round.

Grantown Rovers and Badenoch Utd had already forfeirted thie ties due to personnel issues giving Aviemore Thistle a bye into round 2 as they were scheduled to face Rovers.

This left Cromdale and FC Abernethy to fly the flag for the SBWFA but unfortunately both fell at the first hurdle.

Cromdale 1-6 Elgin Thistle

Thistke now face an away trip to face Elgin Caley in the second round with the remaining sides dropping into the Highland Cup for a second bite at national glory:
