It is with immense sadness that we learned of the passing of our long-time friend and benefactor David Ritchie this afternoon.

David had served the SBWFA as sponsor for many years, ensuring the grassroots game could continue in the local area. Bot not only that, he also played for Carrbridge and Nethy Bridge in his youth, this giving him a valuable insight into the importance of keeping football going across Strathspey & Badenoch.

He passed away peacefully aged 90 at the Mains House Care Home in Newtonmore and is survived by his sons Brian And Robbie. Mr Ritchie’s funeral will take place at 10am on Saturday 17 May at Carrbridge Parish Church. The SWBFA extends its condolences to all in the Ritchie family, and a minute’s silence will be observed ahead of the Scottish Cup and Dalvey Cup semi final ties as a mark of respect.
