Still no sign of the weekly SBWFA weekly round-up appearing on the Strathy’s website, so here’s a cutting from the paper instead. These are all last week’s League fixtures:

Strathy’s McCook Cup report
Due to the Strathy’s move from broadsheet to tabloid format, there was no online report from the McCook Cup final available to view on the paper’s website. So for the benefit of those unable to see the paper itself, a cutting from last week’s publication is reproduced below:
High scoring evening in League week 2
It was a night of close things and goals galore as week 2 of the league campaign served up two classic games:
Strathspey 3 – 4 RBL
Tomatin Utd 5 – 6 Cromdale
Aviemore Thistle host Kingussie tomorrow at Carrbridge.

Self-suspending players
Clubs are reminded that the self-suspending of players should be stopped with immediate effect.
Players who have been cautioned or ordered-off in previous games will not be disciplined by the Association until the referee reports are received and the disciplinary committee advises that suspensions are in place as a result.
Voluntarily suspending players before being instructed to do so will not count towards a reduction in the number of matches banned.

An important reminder for all SBWFA clubs
Following the unfortunate events surrounding last Friday’s McCook Cup Final, all member clubs must note the following basic rules:
Any team drawn to play a home fixture is responsible for ensuring their pitch is match ready. That means it is lined correctly, nets erected and full access to the changing rooms available in good time for kick off. If the referee is not satisfied with the park’s condition then he or she has the ability to cancel the game and report the home club to the Association. It is highly unlikely that such games will be rescheduled, plus the match official’s travel costs must still be paid on the night.
Similarly, clubs hosting cup finals must treat the games as if they were a home fixture, regardless of whether or not they are taking part. Failure to do so will not be viewed favourable by the Association.
These are in no way draconian rules: merely matters of common sense and basic courtesy.
